Writing
Comment policy
The comment sections exist to turn a post into a conversation. This page explains, in plain terms, what is welcome, how moderation works and how to flag something that should not be there.
What belongs here
Comments are for continuing the conversation started in the article. Questions, disagreements, your own experience and pointers to related work are all welcome. You sign with your name and surname so the discussion stays personal and accountable; affiliation is optional.
How moderation works
Comments appear right away, because trust is a good default. I read every comment and may remove ones that are spam, advertising, harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, doxxing, or clearly off-topic. Removal is about keeping the room useful for everyone, not about silencing disagreement. A respectful counterargument will always stay.
Flagging a comment
Every comment has a Report link. Use it when something looks like spam, abuse or simply does not belong in the conversation. Reports are private: only I can see them, the comment stays visible while I review, and the author is not told who reported. I aim to review reports within a few days.
The spirit of it
Write to the person, not at the crowd. Assume good intent, say when you changed your mind, and share what you know. If a thread grows into something bigger, I am always happy to continue it directly.
Questions about a moderation decision, or prefer to report something by email? Write to david.rubert@outlook.com. You can also head back to the Writing page.
